My portfolio spans a mix of digital and print, news and marketing, magazine, email, social media and ad copywriting. I’ve managed projects from start to finish, served as magazine editor and proofreader, brainstormed multichannel campaigns, and written features, tag lines, blurbs and video scripts. This one was designed as part of a quarterly marketing campaign for a print company whose clients include more than 100 colleges and universities. Targeting alumni magazine editors, it features stunning campus photography from some of the printer’s clients — plus relevant content ideas, reminders and print production tips.
The copy reads:
”In higher ed, January is magical.
Hear us out: You get about three weeks of (nearly) uninterrupted planning time before faculty and students get back. Savor it. Make yourself some hot chocolate (because yes, the coffee shop on campus is probably still closed), pick a playlist, and admire your sparse inbox. Then ask yourself: How does print fit into my marketing strategy? What types of materials will I need over the next 12 months?”

On most campuses, September is a busy month!
November is all about giving thanks, getting that Annual Report done, and making it to December without getting sick. 😅
December signals the end of a busy semester — for many in higher ed, the holiday party really can’t come soon enough.
Copy reads: “Keep shining. Yesss, turn up that music. Don’t worry, nobody’s tired of 'Last Christmas' (yet). Have one (or four) more gingerbread cookies and take as many deep breaths as you need. You made it to the end of the semester and the Annual Report is DONE. Good job!”
